MidAmerica Productions is pleased to announce three upcoming concerts to be guest conducted by the Greek-American conductor Peter Tiboris in Italy, the Czech Republic, and France between November 5 and 15, 2016.
The first concert will take place on November 5 in the beautiful Theatre Comunale di Belluno in Italy with the Orchestra Sinfonica Trentina. Under Maestro Tiboris’ direction, the orchestra will perform Mozart’s Requiem, K.626, as well as Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, K.550.
The musical tour will continue on November 10 at Dům Kultury Teplice in the Czech Republic where Mr. Tiboris will lead the North Czech Philharmonic in a performance of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, Op. 64; Strauss’ Four Last Songs, Op. Posth.; and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, Op. 64, a piece which Maestro Tiboris has conducted to critical acclaim in the past. In 2009, Giles Woodforde in The Oxford Times (UK) said: “Tiboris, now working without a score in front of him, seemed liberated by Tchaikovsky’s relaxed and optimistic fifth symphony… [He] drew an open, transparent sound from the Philomusica.”
Finally, Maestro Tiboris travels to Paris to conduct the Orchestre Symphonique Bel Arte in L’église de la Madeleine on November 15. As many know, the Madeleine was the musical home to the composer Fauré, who served as the principal organist in the church for over a decade. The concert program will feature such classic works as Vivaldi’s Gloria in D major, RV 589; Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” K.525; Haydn’s “With Verdure Clad” from The Creation, H. 21/22; Mendelssohn’s “Hear Ye, Israel” from Elijah, Op. 70; and Purcell’s “When I am laid in Earth” from Dido and Aeneas, Z.626.
Since 1983, Peter Tiboris has produced over 1,300 concerts worldwide, many of them on the main stage of Carnegie Hall. He has conducted in some of the most distinguished concert halls in over 20 countries from Austria to Egypt, and most recently in Macao, China.
