Dennis Cox, Conductor

Dennis K. Cox received the BME from the University of Nebraska, the MM from the University of Colorado, the MA from West Virginia, and the DMA from the Conservatory of Music of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Prior to this, Dr. Cox was Assistant Professor of Music at Salem International University in West Virginia and taught vocal music in Colorado and Nebraska. Dr. Cox is a frequent guest clinician who has conducted festival choruses across the United States, Canada, and Europe. The University of Maine Singers under his direction, toured the Northeastern United States and abroad. The ensemble performed at professional music conferences and conitnues a long tradition of collaboration of performing major choral masterpieces with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Cox is a recipient of University of Maine Vincent Hartgen Award for fostering excellence in the arts and he is past president of the Maine Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. This will be Dr. Cox's fourth appearance at Carnegie Hall with MidAmerica.
