Derek Galvicius, Conductor

Derek Galvicius is a seventeen year music director and educator who spent the last fifteen years at McHenry High School.  He graduated from Carthage College and is pursuing his Masters. He conducts four choirs and teaches Introduction to Guitar and Guitar Ensemble.  “G” has directed many musicals over the years including Man of La Mancha, Pippin, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Wizard of OZ and most recently, The Phantom of the Opera.

Mr. Galvicius prepared his students to sing on these stages for the past five years and is delighted to get the opportunity to conduct his own students tonight.  He thanks Dr. Novelli for the invitation to perform under his brilliant leadership and conducting and for years of mentorship and companionship.

Tonight’s Vocal Warriors consist of our Concert Choir and our chamber choir named Surround Sound. They were honored to perform at the Avery Fisher Music Hall as well as Carnegie Hall. They are thrilled to partake in this PRELUDE SERIES and hope their singing calms your soul and lifts spirits.
