Valerian Ruminski, Bass

Valerian Ruminski is a graduate of The Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. He has appeared at The Metropolitan Opera, NYCO, Seattle Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Opera de Montreal, The Canadian Opera Company, Florida Grand Opera, Opera de Monte Carlo, Opera Ireland, and New Israeli Opera in such roles as Daland in The Flying Dutchman, Alfonso in Così fan tutte, Nilakantha in Lakmé, Ferrando in Il trovatore, Bartolo in The Barber of Seville, Gremin in Eugene Onegin and Don Pasquale in Don Pasquale. He is the recipient of The Lincoln Center Martin Segal Award, a George London Grant, and a grant from the Gerda Lissner Foundation. He is the founder and General Director of Nickel City Opera since 2009. Upcoming roles include Crespel in Tales of Hoffmann for Hawaii Opera Theatre, The Sacristan in Tosca for Opera de Montreal, and Gremin in Eugene Onegin for Calgary Opera.
